The city’s Olympic length pool is now open and welcoming swimmers.
Elsewhere, there are pools that offer wave machines, flumes and interactive areas that are ideal for school holidays.

University of Birmingham Olympic length pool
This is Birmingham’s first 50-metre pool, launched as part of the university’s new £55 million sports centre.
It replaces the existing Munrow Centre and is open to the public as well as students and staff.
There’s also a gym, weights room, studios, sports hall and squash courts.

The Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre
Sport Aston’s pool at Aston University is one of the oldest in Birmingham, dating back to 1902 and still boasting many original features.
It’s open to the public as well as staff and students, and you can pay as you go or buy membership.
The pool is split into fast, medium and slow lanes, and there’s a sauna and steam room too.
There are also swimming lessons and ladies only sessions.

Cocks Moor Leisure Centre
South Birmingham’s largest leisure centre has a pool with a wave machine, a 50-metre flume, interactive water features and baby pool and beach area.
There’s also a gym, workout glasses, a sports hall offering martial arts, volleyball, badminton and fencing.
Passport to Leisure cardholders can enjoy a 30 per cent reduction on prices at selected times.

Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre
This refurbished fitness centre has a learner pool as well as a 25ft main pool and offers aqua fit classes and swimming lessons.
There’s also a gym and fitness classes available.

Erdington Leisure Centre
You can get fit or simply relax at this leisure centre.
It has a 30m swimming pool offering a range of sessions for all types of swimmer.
There’s also a Turkish Suite made up of three hot rooms, two steam rooms and a sauna to unwind afterwards.
And you can also work out in the gym and in exercise classes.

Fox Hollies Leisure Centre
Fox Hollies has undergone a major refurbishment.
There’s a brand new 120 station gym and a 25m pool plus a children’s learner pool too.
Outside, there are new floodlit 3G pitches, and a refurbished 400m running track. Inside, you can do spin bike sessions in the cycle studio or take part in an exercise class.

Kingstanding Leisure Centre
Kingstanding Leisure Centre boasts a large free-form leisure pool with slides.
There is a wave machine but it’s currently not available.
Two sports halls are also on site for clubs and kids parties.

Moseley Road Baths
Moseley Road Baths opened in 1907 and is the oldest of only three Grade II listed swimming baths currently operating in Britain.
The largest of the pools (The Gala Pool) is currently closed but you can still go along for a swim in the second pool.
The baths are still pencilled for closure and campaigns to save Moseley Baths are ongoing.

Stechford Cascades used to have a slide, waterfalls and jets but this is no longer open.
There is, however, still a 25m pool and two baby pools which you can use on a pay as you go basis.
There are three workout studios, a large gym and a cafe.

Beeches Pool and Fitness Centre
There’s a 25m swimming pool at Beeches Pool and Fitness Centre plus a balcony for parents to watch swimming lessons.
You can take part in aqua classes, use the gym then chill out in the sauna and steam room afterwards.

Wyndley Leisure Centre
There’s a two level diving pit at this leisure centre.
It boasts a 25m pool and teaching pool plus a seating area for both pools is available for parents to watch swimming lessons.

North Solihull Sports Centre
This centre features a 33m swimming pool, a teaching pool and an athletics track.
There’s also an astroturf pitch, a studio for workout classes, a 100 station gym and a six court sports hall.
And, after all that working out, you can treat yourself in the cafe bar.

Tudor Grange Leisure Centre
There’s a sauna, steam and spa here as well as a 25m pool, a learner pool and diving pool.
The gym features 150 stations and there’s a full size astroturf pitch and grade 1 track and field course together with three indoor tennis courts and a sports hall and dance studio.
There’s also a cafe.
