This year's Christmas ad from John Lewis features a song from Elbow.

The British band are singing a cover version of The Beatles classic Golden Slumbers from the classic 1969 Abbey Road album.

Elbow's cover will be released on the band's Best Of collection, due out on November 24.

The Bury-based band have played together since 1990 and adopted the name Elbow in 1997, releasing their debut album in 2001.

With members including Guy Garvey, Craig Potter, Mark Potter and Pete Turner, they were awarded the Mercury Music Prize for their album The Seldom Seen Kid in 2008.
