New Year's Eve can be an expensive night out just for all those rounds of celebratory drinks and the taxis rides to get there and back, let alone any admission charges.

And there's nothing worse than heading into town on New Year's Eve only to find you should have pre-booked tickets to get into a pub or that your favourite venue is charging a big entrance fee just to get in.

Many of the ticket-only events look amazing but you might not fancy staying in one place the whole night - or paying several fees if you are going on a bar crawl.

So we have found some great places where you can welcome in 2018 for free!
