Key Events

Cummings set to join Rangers on loan from Forest

Jason Cummings tonight flew into Glasgow to sign for Rangers on loan until the end of the season.

The Nottingham Forest striker will become Graeme Murty’s fourth signing of the January window by sealing a move back to Scotland.

Cummings moved to the English Championship from Hibs last summer as former Ibrox boss Mark Warburton took him south.

Bookies favourite

Andre Silva is as short as evens to join Wolves.

Reports in Italy recently of a significant bid being made by Wanderers for the AC Milan star are thought to be wide of the mark, but that kind of link tells you the kind of direction the club is heading in.

Bet Victor actually currently have Wolves as evens to be Silva’s next club, ahead of Everton.

Of course the betting market fluctuates based on where the money is going, but it’s an interesting development.

Haven't the foggiest

Neil Warnock was delighted to bring Yanic Wildschut to Cardiff from Norwich - though there were a few hurdles to overcome!

Speaking after the Bluebirds’ 4-0 thrashing of Sunderland on Saturday, Warnock said:

“He’s had a hell of a week.

“He had a baby, went home, stayed with his wife, but then there were a few complications and she had to go back into hospital.

“I did give him the option of not coming because your family’s more important, but she was a lot better and she insisted he came.

“But then there was the fog and I think he was circling Cardiff airport for 40 minutes in a small plane before they were allowed to land. I didn’t tell him the kind of plane that was picking him up because I wouldn’t have wanted to be him!

“He’s a lot to deal with him but I’m delighted to have him here.”

Aiming for Aden

West Brom are ready to move for Bristol City defender Aden Flint if they sell Jonny Evans this month, according to the Sunday People.

The Robins defender was watched by Albion sporting director Nicky Hammond at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday when they took on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Evans is the target of Arsenal and Manchester City, and should Albion receive an offer that they’d be willing to accept, they may look to replace him with towering centre-back Flint.

What on earth...?

Incoming!

Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that he will meet with the Leeds hierarchy this week to discuss potential transfer business.

The Whites are without a win in four, after Saturday’s defeat at Ipswich and will likely be looking to recruit to keep their play-off push on track.

Christiansen simply said:

“We will talk.”

Splashing the cash

Blues have made a few January transfer additions down the years.

Steve Cotterill will be hoping to add a few himself this month, make no mistake.

What kind of business have the club done in seasons gone by?

We’ve compiled a few here.

Fishing for a forward?

Fulham are trying to sign Nelson Oliveira from Norwich this month - as are Derby County.

Derby are currently occupying one of the automatic promotion spots and are looking to add further attacking options ahead of the Championship run-in.

The Cottagers, meanwhile, are on the cusp of the play-offs.

Oliveira has scored seven goals in 23 games this season for the Canaries.

Staying put

West Ham United want Robert Snodgrass back this month, according to reports in Scotland - even though Steve Bruce has already confirmed that the winger will remain at Aston Villa for the entire season.

Snodgrass, 30, has made 23 appearances for Villa so far this season, has scored five goals and set up Scott Hogan’s winner at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Slaven Bilic decided to loan Scottish international Snodgrass out in the summer, just six months after signing him from Hull, but compatriot David Moyes is now in charge and is believed to be keen on an early reunion.

Bruce insisted last month, though, that the winger would be going nowhere, and spoke of how much Snodgrass was enjoying his time at Villa Park.

Bid made

Reading have made a bid for Brentford defender Yoann Barbet, according to reports.

Barbet was signed from Chamois for around £500k in 2015 and he’s scored three goals this season.

The Bees are faring well this season, but the Royals are 11 points behind them, and are looking over their shoulders.

North of the border

Russell Martin is set for a move to Rangers, according to reports in Scotland.

The experienced Norwich centre-back hasn’t played for the club since August when Millwall thumped the Canaries 4-0.

The Scottish international has made more than 300 appearances for the Norfolk club.

Firepower

Sunderland boss Chris Coleman has lost James Vaughan and Lewis Grabban in this past fortnight.

Now, alongside Blues in the bottom three, the Black Cats are aiming to recruit attackers.

They were beaten 4-0 by Cardiff on Saturday, and after the game Coleman said:

This window will be huge for us in that department, we know that, we absolutely know that. It’s not a case of ‘I’m hoping’, we’ve got to do it.

“We’ve got to do it, we need help in that department. We cannot expect and put this pressure on two young boys.

Good morning!

It’s Sunday, which more often than not means it’s a day of reflection after the hustle and bustle of football on Saturday afternoon.

It was a mixed bag for our sides yesterday.

Villa won, Blues were beat and Wolves had to settle for a draw.

We nearing the midway point of the transfer window - stay tuned for updates from the Championship.
