Albion are one of a host of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda.
Bournemouth, Watford and Newcastle are said to be aware that the midfielder is being allowed to leave on loan this month.
Musonda, 21, spent last season on loan at La Liga side Real Betis.
Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur is set to sign a new contract at the club to ward off interest from West Brom, Watford and Burnley in the January window.
Scottish international McArthur, 30, has been at Selhurst Park since the summer of 2014.
Though he was signed by Neil Warnock, he played more prominently for current Albion manager Alan Pardew.
Despite supposed interest in McArthur, the midfielder looks set to remain with the Eagles and pen a new deal.
Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa
This is the latest name from France being linked with a move to West Brom.
Cameroon international Anguissa is said to be the interest to Albion before the window closes.
Anguissa has been a regular for Ligue 1 side Marseille this season and is also a fixture for his national team.
Reports in Africa even reckon the Baggies have made a bid of £16.5m.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia has been the subject of a bid from West Brom, reckon reports in Portugal.
Lisbon have signed two new midfielders this month and the Portuguese press believe Battaglia could make way to help balance the books.
West Ham are also said to be interested, as are Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen.
Battaglia has been linked with a move to Albion in between the summer and current windows.
Alan Pardew has played down speculation that Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is on his January transfer wishlist.
Chambers has been touted as a potential makeweight in any deal with Arsenal for West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans.
But Pardew, who aims on Saturday to secure a first Premier League win as Baggies boss against Brighton & Hove Albion, was quick to play down the rumour.
“No, that name has not entered into my thinking,” said Pardew.
“Or names at Arsenal, Man City or Man Utd if I’m honest."
West Brom and Swansea are being linked with a move for Greek international Dimitrios Siovas.
The 29-year-old plays for Leganes in La Liga and can also operate as a defensive midfielder.
A centre-back might be on the cards for Alan Pardew is Albion part with captain and major asset Jonny Evans - though until now no concrete offers have been made.
Siovas has previously played in Europe for Olympiakos.
