nuno espírito santo

Nuno Espírito Santo is head coach at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Portuguese former goalkeeper made more of a name for himself as a manager after a playing career which arguably peaked when he was first-choice at former Spanish second division club CP Merdia. He led Rio Ave to the Europa League for the first time in the club's history, and then with Valencia, whom he guided into the Champions League. Santo was less successful at Porto and dismissed in May 2016 after one season that failed to deliver a trophy for the Portugeuse giant. Weeks later Wolves appointed Santo as Paul Lambert's successor with a remit to turn the club into a promotion candidate.
